Economy: Almost USD 1.7 Billion in 2010, with the primary income from tourism and hydropower sales to India. Subsistence farming and agriculture still provides a livelihood to about 80% of the population.

Religion: Bhuddist (about three quarters) and Hinduism (about a quarter)

National sport: Archery
Bhutan takes archery very seriously… In villages as much as five days walk from the nearest road, sometimes with no electricity, or running water in sight- it’s not uncommon to see some of the most advanced compound hunting bow technology featured as villagers compete in multi-day archery festivals. Targets are commonly placed at a range of 150m, and only 26cm wide, across fields with wandering yak sometimes in between…
